Position: Library Clerk

Position Overview: The Valparaiso Community Library is seeking a part-time (approx. 24 hours per week), entry level library associate.  Job requirements include customer service experience, the ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds, and the ability to conduct and oversee programs and other library related activities. 

Minimum Requirements: A high school graduate or GED equivalent is required, some college is preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age and be a citizen of the United States. Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.

After conditional offer of employment, have passed a pre-employment physical examination, drug screening, and background investigation.

We are pleased to report that the City of Valparaiso has received CDBG funds to improve the City’s sewer collection system.  In an effort to encourage participating contractors to hire Section 3 residents, we will have copies of a Section 3 Contact Information Form available at City Hall.  A copy of all completed forms will be provided to the awarded Contractor and Subcontractors should they need to hire additional persons to complete the project.   Please note, completing the Section 3 Contact Information Form does not guarantee your employment with the awarded Contractor and/or Subcontractors.
